This is a sales brochure for the PL 12U that I picked up some years ago. The original is in pretty tatty condition, so I’ve cleaned the images up where possible.
A couple of interesting points stand out – the aircraft could be configured for Counter Insurgency, Casevac, passenger or cargo work, and could operate out of short, rough airstrips. Very handy for third world countries that needed a cheap and reliable all-round workhorse. There were only two Achilles heels that I know of – the patented rubber block suspension was a failure, due to technical issues (later replaced by a very neat oleo strut design) – and the aeroplane was prone to turning turtle in a forced landing, due to a high centre of gravity and a very short wheelbase.
